Ian, I think Vic Smeed's Sunda would be a steam yacht more within my budget.

Does this mean you're still thinking about Sunda, Tony? I recently found this site where you can download information, photos and drawings regarding the steamboats of the Simpson Strickland company, built by Philips of Dartmouth. There are some lovely drawings but unfortunately, no lines plans.

The steam boats at the Windermere Steamboat Museum are interesting as I made a couple of visits in the past. Must research as to how work is progressing.

Sunda is still very interesting, top of the 'future build' list. Still very much enjoying the build of Guardsman, but not enough progress to post any photographs.
