Just for interest I emailed Slec UK for postage cost for 2 – 3mm x 300mm x 600mm lite ply

the reply was The cost to send the Lite Ply to Australia would be approximately £60.00

I will not be buying off shore lol

          Damien,

I rang Ian of the Model and Hobby Warehouse – 0394645397.

He said he has 3mm Lite-Ply in stock and would be prepared to cut sheets in half so they can be posted to you. I forgot to ask the price, but I am sure the postage would be less than 60 pounds!

          Yabbie 1.

            Use the card.

Its a small model, thick card will be more than adequate and get rid of the enormous expense and aggro of lite ply. If you paint it with fibreglass resin after (even just the inside) it will be as tough as nails.

Why not make your own light ply, I have. Two layers of vernier with balsa between ( grain in opposite direction ) Glue with waterproof white glue, press between plastic coated chipboard. The only draw back only small peaces can be made. Vernier from craft shop balsa model shop.

                      Hi ALL

Like damien a more than a little way from the centre of the world I have diffiulty in getting anything off the shelf in the far reahes of Lincolnshire. On deiding to build the Halvosen Seaplane Tender( R.A.A.F) I set out to order some lite ply .Her who must be obeyed was in attendeance when I made my order of 2 sheets &1/8 and 1 sheet of 1/4 pluss some balsa. It duly arrived on Friday last. Situation closed

. No this morninI entered the conservatry to find a parcel of .yes more lite ply in the same sizes I had purhased ,a note read Merry Xmass Dad,Mum says this will keep you quiet for a while. Amazed how cheap it is compared to standard ply .Thanks to the designers for the pointer to this lovely material to work with. Will take some photos as I progress and when grandson has time will post them . This will be my first marine brushless drive system, lite but have not researched wether they were quick so back to the computer to do the looking.

Hope you all have had a healthy and happy new yearwink
