Royal yacht Brittania

I am building the Brittania from MMI plans MAR2530 by Sandy Cousins (Jan 1997). I am new to sailing yachts and am still struggling with yacht terminology, but I now have a hull and am installing the electrics. First query concerns the sail winch. I followed the suggestion in the plans of modifying a standard servo – in my case a Futaba 3003. It works and I have a motor that runs continuously in either direction, depending on the transmitter stick, but it does not seem possible to fit limit switches and I wonder if this is going to be a problem. Has anyone tried this mod for a yacht? This and other problems really concerns the design of the Britannia and I wonder if there is anyone reading this who has built the Britannia.
