      hi with me being a bit thick how do you tell a rh from a left hand propeller.

          a right hand propellor will rotate clockwise to push your boat forward, and a left hand propellor will rotate anti clockwise to push your boat forward………so take the prop in your fingers and turn it one way or the other by forcing your other finger that you hold against the blades, backwards ( i e…..displacing the water and thus thrusting the boat forward, you'll know whether it is a right or left handed prop.

            What Neil said, but remember that in the English speaking world, we regard clockwise as looking forward from the stern, but some of the continentals look from the motor back down the shaft, so their "L" and "R" as marked and sold are different to ours. Of course, it doesn't make a lot of difference if you are buying a matched pair and going by results.
