Posting photos on a thread item

Hello

I have a wager with a very dear friend regarding my ability to insert photos into this thread, I have checked my forum settings and they are exactly the same as my settings on another excellent site so I should have no problem.

But first I will post this item and then I shall attempt to add the photo

It would appear that I have egg on my face again as I have achieved something that I have been trying to do for ages.

I have successfully included a photo on a thread.

But I am not going to tell anyone else how it is done.

Dear All

These are the settings that you will need to be able to include photos with your text.

The route is in your member details on left of screen goto My Details / My Forum where you will see a selection box as shown below if you adjust your settings to match the underlined sections then you will be able to include photos as well. It also give you a better page layout.

This will really help Bob with his reporting on the building of the Great Eastern.

Response notification Default to off / Default to on

Thread starting page Default to first / Default to last

My activity stats Default to show  / Default to hide

Others’ activity stats Show horizontal / Show vertical  / Hide

Forum smilies Render as image /  Render as text

Forum images Render as image  / Render as link

Forum Editor Basic Editor /  Advanced WYSIWYG Editor

Hi Paul,

I was going to congratulate you on your success in posting a piccy and posting the info for us all to use when the occasion arises – but how on ‘eck do you use it ?

I’ve altered all the settings as shown.  Clicked on the small picture icon in the editor and I still get a request for URL: what on earth do you type here?  – would be so much easier for the editor to display a directory window, where we can just select a folder and click the picture required !

and while I’m having an end of the year moan – where’s Vinnie been all week ? – He must have got one hell of a load of prezzies if its taken all week to open, lucky divot !

I’ve been ‘ere!  All along…..watching. 

…..And preparing.  As you can see by today’s bountiful offerings of new articles to peruse.

I didn’t use the little piccie icon I just copied a photo and pasted it onto the page.

And Vinnie has been very busy posting all those new articles and opening all his prezzies (scanner / photocopier)

Sorry my friend I had the same problem for months, then all of a sudden everything worked ok.

However I have just joined the military modeling web site (our sister site) and submitted all my details, I am beginning to wonder if there might be some kind of multi-universal connection.

This might be one for your tech guys Vinnie.
