I believe you can get one from the RNLI at a reasonable cost.

ive seen their site online and from what i can make out its not a true sett of plans , i belive they are more meant as a guide

I have not tried them myself but I think that other modellers have found them to be usable. Obviously they are not model maker's plans so you would need to interpret them accordingly. Perhaps some of our members can shed further light on this.

yes they are Harvey…….lines, GA, docking plans, motor instalations…..there is quite a set………I recently gave my set to another modeller, but they are all at 1:20 and/or 1:16 scale, but if you are building from scratch, the lines and GA's are the ones you need.the others are purely a browsing pack as far as the modeller is concerned……….unless you want to fit out the boat internally as well as externally with replica engines, cabins etc.

Adding my tupence worth !!! the RIB was origanly made in Atlantic colleage in wales and the plan sold to the RNLI for the hefty sum of £1 back in the 1960's , i think ?? .

I remember as a child I visited a lifeboat station on a school trip, must have been around 1973 or 74! Anyway, I remember I bought a card model of the then curent lifeboat, and assembled it over the next few days. It turned out a very nice model too! I hve visited lifeboat stations recently, but they don't stock card models anymore, mores the pity (although they do sometimes have the airfix kits of lifeboats available) I'd really like one of those card models, though!
