Plan Enlargement A1 to A0

Hi,

 

Does anyone have any experience in blowing up plans from A1 to A0 and how it would affect the scale or size of the build.

 

I have an A1 plan of a 26″ ship which is 1/32 scale, if the plan was blown up to A0 size I believe this would make the ship about 36″ in length, and the rest of the ship scaled up.

 

Has anyone ever done this before, or am I barking up the wrong tree here.

Hello Derek

 

For starters, here are all the paper sizes….. http://painting.about.com/od/artglossarya/g/defApapersizes.htm

 

A0 is 1189mm long

 

A1 is 841mm long

 

A0 is 1,4138 times longer than A1

 

So your 26″ dimension is increased by 1.4138 = 36.76″

Thank you, this is very helpful.

 

I took the plans to my local photo/print shop and they are going to enlarge them from A1 to A0 for me with a cost of £10 for the both sides of the plan. The guy in the shop said it would be a 40% increase in the size of the plan.
