Just received a PM from Martyn Chorlton, asking about my PS Jeanie Deans scratch build

Yes I did build the model back in 2006, followed by "Jeanie Deans at War" in 2008, which was her wartime guise of JD, converted to a Mine Sweeper

      Regards…..Bob

            Hello Captain

Was it really all those years ago, it was a lovely model and certainly one of your best.

              Hello Paul

The years have certainly rolled past

The sad news is that I gave this model away….Free of charge!

              Complete with Twin stick F16!

Mind you, I had good reason and it went to a good home

              All the best, my mate……Bob

                Hello Bob,

                A fine model indeed

Must be a while since we did Silver Mist ? she is still one of my favourite's.

Here is Mini Mist 15" long.

                      Hi Bob,

I didn't realize how big your Jeanie Deans was ! Do you have any drawings for her ? LBSC named a 3 1/2" gauge loco with the same after her, was she an actress ?

                      regards Ray

If you google Sir Walter Scott you will find out all about Jeanie Deans.

                              Hello Bob,

Yes I'm a fan of LBSC designs, here is my first loco Tich finished in 1972 when I was 16 and the year i started work, she looks worse for wear at 47 years old, but the grandchildren have been playing with it for the last 10 years 😀

Do you still have the Brittania ? a powerful engine.

                              Regards Rayimg_20190913_173941.jpg

                                Hi Ray

I sold the Britannia and it helped to pay for our first caravan

The Tank Engine was my first build designed by Henry Greenley and the plans and castings were marketed by Bassett Lowke

I sold it and bought our Frame Tent camping equipment

My final loco was the Princess of Wales, designed by Martin Evans……A 5" gauge Midland Single

I built the chassis and wheels etc and had just started the boiler, when Martin confessed he had made a grave design error!…….All the cylinder mounting holes were incorrect!

So that was that……..And that got sold too

The track was in our garden
