I am preparing a couple of articles for publication in Model Boats magazine next year on the subject of the history of our hobby and would like to be able to feature good quality photos of the pre 1990 period, in particular the 50s, 60s and 70s. There are of course photos in the earlier issues of the magazine but these were not reproduced to a very high standard and don’t scan very well.

I am especially interested in shots of individual models, either ashore or afloat and of photos which show club or regatta gatherings with a mix of people and models. Colour and black & white equally welcome.

 I’m afraid there is no money available but all photos used will be fully credited and background information will be mentioned in the text or captions. This is an opportunity to illustrate some of the history of our hobby.

 Scans of prints should be at 300dpi which is a pretty standard resolution. If you can’t scan them then some other arrangement can be arrived at if the photos are particularly good.

 I would be grateful to hear from anyone interested via PM in the first instance and we can take it from there.

 Hopefully in anticipation.
