At 17,8 inches, this seems to be quite a large model, Bob?

Or am I having another Senior Moment?

          Looking forward to this

It is no different from the rest! At 32 feet t 1 inch, it is the same scale as the wool clipper Wairoa! Just that it is over 11,000 tons, where the Wairoa was about 1,200 tons!

Another Blue Star ship then Bob, looks quite similar to your previous one.

Blue Star, but a lot more modern. The last one was 1930, this one is 1948, and rather better looking!

Is that a piece of the legendary…….Yellow Pine you are using?

No – It is a piece of Obeche – very similar.

I always thought you were about 2000 years old Colin….

Bob W, A largish model, bigger than some of the plastic magic conversions in the mag.

It's all relative. As the scale is 32 feet to 1 inch, it is still classed as a miniature, and is the same scale as the wool clipper, but with the original ship being in excess of 11,000 tons, it nautrally makes a larger model, but it is still not all that big when you consider that kits are usually three feet or more in length.

I must make an effort to start on the cutting today.

                              Bob,

Not done anything more on it!blush When I mentioned it on my website, I specifically asked that no-one try to stake a claim to it before it was completed, as that sort of thing makes me feel like they are private commissions, even though they are not. Sure enough, my request was understood, but interest in purchasing the completed model was declared anyway! sad Also, despite saying I don't take private commissions, got a number of requests for various models. Consequently, I "backed off," and have not done any model shipbuilding for weeks now! I don't suppose I will "perk up" again until after the 21st of this month when it starts to get lighter and lighter every day!face 1 I have been doing a lot of tidying up, and more writing.

                              Bob
