I have built a model of an airboat, as featured in a plan in Model Boats magazine September 2007. The model is called Skimmer by its designer Glynn Guest. If you go no further than the plan with your build then the cage around the propeller is completely adequate in terms of safety for the model, but I would like to detail it a bit further through enclosing the propeller even more. However, i don’t know what I can use as a netting to put on top of the framing (made out of thin steel rods). I could do with something like chicken wire, only that the holes are much smaller. The scale of the airboat is about, i guess, 1/10 to 1/12. Rather than mess about with trying to use thread or fishing wire I would like if there was something more ‘one piece’ i could just fit over the framing. Can somebody please suggest something?
