motorised Catamaran

Hi folks ,I have an ambition to build a Motorised catamaran and would like your help. I have built Aircraft so have some skills. I propose to have it driven with small brushless motors due to the lack of space .Not worked out a lot of the problems ,so would listen to advise .Thanks Michael

Hi Ashley,

I would like to build a cat of about 36 ins and of ocean going style.Not much more confidence in other dimentions As a young man I owned a Birchwood Contintal which was a Cathedral hulled craft but I feel that would become too complex a project to embark on as a 4th project .Will still appreciate any advise given Thanks Michael

Michael. There are shed loads of “racing” cats out there. i would have a google to look at some RtR types, and then have a look to see whats available to buy as hulls only.

 

Failing that there must be some cat designs from our sponsors plans service??

Hey Mike,

 

I have some plans for a “Fast Cat” that i downloaded off some free plan website in PDF FORMAT, Cant find the website now, so if you let me have your e-mail i will send them to you.

The plans are for a single prop type cat and measurements are in imperial as it must have been an American design but you can enlarge the plans easily on your P.C. to any size you want.

Hi All I searched the net for hours without much luck as I did not want to build a copy of a toy. As a last resort I tried for a life size cat. and to my joy I found one for sale in Faro. I t is called a Wharram poli. Decided to build if I could get info from builders .Though it would be forgion but to my surprise it was made in Cornwall.made contact and pleasently surprised when they not only gave me the go ahead but put me in contact with a fellow modeller so to those of you who offered help thanks .When the model is built I will try to get photos on the forum .
