      Hi all.

Not 'tec' minded but I am told that it is possible to mix rudder/twin motor using 'V' tail to improve the turning circle but I cant for the life of me see how it works. Any answers in "idiot proof/old person" format please

          Hello Michael,

Have a look at this pdf document.

If Dave Milbourn sees your post I expect he can provide more info (Dave runs "Action R/C Electronics" and is on this forum quite frequently).

          Regards.

            Michael,

I had a look at this when I bought my 6EX 40mhz a while back. I can't recall the details but I think that the inbuilt mixer operates on the wrong channels for model boating being designed for aircraft use. You are almost certainly better off using and external mixer.

                Thanks 'Shipwright/Colin.

I have looked at 'Action' products but believe that some of them may not work with the 'Futaba' system, Not sure of my facts here, could be well out of date. I do know that TX mixing has been done using 'Mode 1' (throttle right) and Aileron. I saw this at the Model Boat Show and asked but the operator did not have time to show me. I will see if I get any other answers before saving up for a mixer.

                Thanks Gents

                Mike

The Futaba 6EX 2.4 is the radio which I use to test every P94 and P40D before despatch. It's only the 2.4 Skysport and 6J which are not compatible.

Thanks for clariying that Dave. Did not intend to do you or your company a disservice. There are many opinions and rumours around the ponds, not all correct. I will be in touch if there is no way of mixing at the TX. Trying to save my few pence if I can, pension does not allow for excessive expenditure.

                    Regards

Hi Dave M & others who may be able to answer my next bit of gibberish.

I am using a TX in Mode 1 and have throttle & rudder on the right hand stick (ex aircraft man, throttle/aileron) will this setup still work with the 'Action P40D' mixer?

I have 'Electronize' ESC's and BEC is connected. I do not particularly want to take everything out of the model to disconnect it and add wiring for a 4.8 batt. Will the mixer still work without risk if I omit the 4.8 and keep the BEC?

                      Mike

                        1. Yes it will, as long as you connect the P40 to the correct channels of the receiver (throttle and aileron in your example).

                        2. I understand from Bluebird that his Electronize ESCs work fine with the P40 without any incidence of earth loops, so you might be OK if you leave the BEC connected. You must NOT have it running on both, however, so disconnect the red wire from the leads of one of them like this **LINK**
If not then a 4-cell pack is neither expensive, difficult to connect nor excessively large.
