      Hi guys

my newest ship is nearing the end my son would like a new boat.he has decided on the Glynn Guest UTE plan no mm2079..

how do you guy who build from plans transfer the plans to the wood with out cuting the plan up,I am thinking tracing paper, and then turning tracing paper over and redrawing to transfer pencil lines to wood.

      is there any better way.

      Cheers

      Wayne

          Hello Wayne

Place the plan over the wood and using a bradawl, prick out the item`s profile.

Remove the plan, then join up the dots!………It`s that easy

One way is to photocopy the plan in sections and stick the pieces together. Another way if you have a scanner is to scan the plan in sections, print and stick the sheets together.

Carbon paper between the plan and the wood, trace over the plan lines with the end of a knitting needle?

Hi Wayne maybe the method l use may be of some help to you . lf you could get you plans photo copied at a printers you can then cut out each part then.. heres the cleaver bit ,,use a PRITT STICK and if your plan requires two of said part just tack your wood together and you can remove yhe paper from the wood after ..ive made lots of models from plans this (mainly aircraft !!!)…..
