Sorry, but as the topic heading makes quite clear, the Buy & Sell facility is for regular contributors only.

You would be best advised to place the item on an internet auction site.

It is all in the topic title – it says 'Regular Contributors Only'. I would hope this would be clear enough!

I'm afraid this is a Model Boat Forum for discussing model boating matters and not a sales site.

Buy, Sell and Trade – the one you placed your advert in!

                **LINK**

The reason we restrict adverts to regular contributors is that if we did not then the Forum is likely to be swamped with people trying to sell things for free which gets in the way of the discussions on model boating that it is intended for. Many of our members click on the 'Latest posts' when logging in and I don't want the list clogged up with for sale adverts. Other Forums take exactly the same line.

                Hope that explains matters.

Hi Thomas, I,m sure Colin is getting fed up with having to explain to members who fail to read the Forum Rules.

A little thought, put your sales question in the search box (TOP RIGHT CORNER ) will save Colin having to explain I would think once a month what is required sadMichael

if there was an email explaining to new members how to post what do to do and not do and where etc then things wouldnt happen and if threads were pinned ,then having to explain all the time would not happen , as i said in an email i was recomended to join to sell this and learn as my friend and i made a LST in 1/72 for wargaming and planning to do a fletcher and kagero class in same scale .. but not feeling very welcomed..

Thomas, why would you expect an email? The heading on the topic Buy, Sell & Trade makes it quite clear that it is for regular contributors only.

You are most welcome to contribute to and join in the Forum but I'm afraid that you cannot start making sales without some sort of track record!

By all means share with us your modelling experiences as this is really what the Forum is all about.

Come on Thomas and get off the pot, either join in with the banter or have some dignity and back off

This has cropped up that many times – why not have any posts under the 'Item for Sale' heading, need to be forwarded for approval before public posting? The same as the system which is used if your public photograph is changed.

Hi Thomas , By all means please join us on this forum and exchange you model boat ideas that would be great, but we dont want it to turn into a buy and sell shop.

Tony, OK in theory but not so easy in programming practice. Plus not everyone enters items for sale under that heading!

The topic heading makes it clear that it is for regular contributors only. If people ignore that then it is not too onerous for me to point out the errors of their ways!

I only have a limited amount of time to spend on the Forum so don't want to spend time checking things unnecessarily. Some extra programming might help filter things but at the moment the resources are simply not available to do this.
