IMPORTANT PLEASE READ THIS

Could all members please check that their internet security software is upto date as there are some very suspect x rated emails being sent supposedly from one of our members so it is obvious that someones contact files have been invaded.

Something like the klez virus will harvest emails from an unsuspecting users browsed webpages and mail contact lists.It will then spew out undetected emails to contacts and mailto addresses on those websites.

I used to get those daily and was able to identify one user as the outgoing mailserver added an X apparently from header.

If you are lucky and savvy you can examine the mail header and trace the hapless Typhoid Mary

i don’t know if this had any thing to do with this problem but i had great difficulty in logging on to site yesterday evening and first thing this morning kept getting the "host server error page" message ?

A few forums have recently noted that there have been attempted attacks made on them , the Fleetscale site is/was down the other day because of such an attack. , is’nt lfe fun..

I can’t emphasize how important this matter is as the bogus emails that are being sent are highly pornographic and extremely graphic. 

Dont forget the fact that many vulnerable people such as children are members of this site and they certainly do not deserve to recieve such filth

SO GET YOUR FINGERS OUT AND UPDATE YOUR SECURITY

Your emails are nothing to do with this site.  They’re just spam, and eventually everybody gets them.  Filter them. 

It’s also nothing to do with security.  

You can have the best security in the world, but you’ll still receive this sort of mail.

I appreciate that the rouge emails have nothing to do with Model Boats however they are something to do with one or more of the sites members as it is their computers address books that have been invaded.

So whilst my system filters this sort of problem it is obvious that somebody else’s does not.

I’m sure you have ,  but have you contacted the member where the emails originate from as I assume they are known to you with your address being in their email directory.
