      Hi All,

Due to my retirement at the end of the month I have set up a new account as Ray Wood 1 as the company want the laptop back because of the software on it !!

51 years in the construction industry, 68 this year, time to call it a day !!

It will be the hobby of modelling fulltime now , I was only playing at it before

      Kind Regards to all

      Ray

Seriously Ray, definitely time to call it a day. By the way why don't you call the account Ray Wood?

About time you retired Ray! You were still building more than me even after I retired! 47 years in the building industry for me!

You don't need to set up new accounts for any forums Ray. Just log in using your username and password when you have got your own laptop and/or phone. You can change your email address in your Account settings on here.

Chris Fellows is absolutely right. Many of us have used more than one computer over the years and that is all that you are doing. You have posted so much useful information that it would be a great pity to confuse it by having a new name.

Windows, Mac, Linux or Tablet makes no difference. They can all be used to log into your existing account.

                  Hi Ray,

Chris and Chris are both right, you can keep your name.

If you use a work email for your account, change it to a personal one while you still have access to the work one – you may need it to confirm the change.

As a precaution, you should change your account password (not username) once you've handed your laptop back though.

                          Hi All,

Thanks for all the comments, I can't quite believe it myself

I plan to take slightly longer with my builds, but who knows ?

I have a week booked on a 40ft Norfolk Broads cruiser in May so the tape measure and drawing board are ready.

Yes I could have changed my existing identity, but as I started posting in 2016 I have no idea what my password etc might have been !!

                          Richard,

I think there is already a Ray Wood on the system, but have never seen him post.

I will also be able to support Lindsey with copy for the mag, anybody else fancies writing stuff she will be very happy to receive it !!

                          Kind Regards Ray

                            Hi Ray,

Great to see you`ve decided to retire and join the rest of us. Heaven help the rest of us now you have more time to build. Can`t see you taking longer to thoughlaugh A chance of good weather by May, hope the week is a good one.

                            Best wishes, Jim.

                              Hi Ray

If you have forgotten your password then simply log out, request a new password and the system will send a temp one to log back in.

Don't worry about not knowing your password. There is always a way of dealing with those who have forgotten their password!

On the login screen there is a button for "I have forgotten my password" or something similar. Normally this sends a message to your email account which invites you to reset your password without knowing the old one. Just make sure that you have access to your recorded email account before you log out so that you can reset your password.

I rather hope that Colin can help here.

My current login & email address were from 2 companies a go, I get around

I may now have a split personality now ?

                                      Hi Ray,

I have sent you an email as follows:

I will need your password for Ray Wood 2 please.

Alternatively you can do it yourself,

Login to your original ID Ray Wood 2

Go to settings and then my account

Change your email address and confirm with your existing password.

                                      Job done!

                                      Colin

PS I have deleted Ray Wood 1 to avoid email duplication!

One of Ray's problems he tells us is that he doesn't know his current password so he cannot confirm anything using it.

Contacting you would appear to be his only option.

There is a bug in the system!

Ray, if you can read this then log in using your new email and the password

I am afraid I have to write down all my i/d’s, logins and passwords.

I have 3 A4 pages of them. It is impossible to keep a tab on them, and using the same password is not advisable. Thankfully most of the logins are my e-mail address, but even so.,

The list is endless. screwfix, MB, Tesco, Hobbycraft, Howes, CMB, Southwestern train…..it goes on.

                                                  Ray,

That's good. Your work laptop was not directly linked to the MB website. It simply remembered the password you had forgotten and applied it automatically when you logged in.

I should have been able to reset everything for you but a bug in the system mean't that I couldn't confirm the password change directly.

Ashley, I use a utilty called KeePass which encrypts my passwords and holds them on my PC instad of in the 'Cloud'.

I copy the file to our laptops and tablets etc, in cas the PC breaks down.
