Hornet II

Hi all,

I have just discovered the remarkable alloy decked Gar Wood Hydroplane Hornet II and would like to scratch build one in maybe 1/8th scale, but I don't know if there are any plans for the boat or the pre-alloy decked all wooden boat. Apparently 10 of these 29 1/2 foot single steppers were built in the 30s.

I could interpolate from photos, but a starter plan for the hull would be very time-saving.

I have jut carved a half hull of this boat in 1/43rd scale in Ureol.

It will now go to Alan at Modelu, who scan stuff and produce files for model figures usually. BUT…he tells me he can scan and produce 2D drawings of the sections through the boat, which will enable me to draw up the whole thing in 1/8th scale.
