I buy nearly all of my timber from SLEC (ply, bass, beech, mahogany and medium grade balsa) and the quality is always good. One thing to bear in mind is the postage which for my 915mm lengths is around £10 so try and buy all that is needed in one go to make it viable.

I’ve slipped up once or twice and forgotten things which has meant a small follow up order that worked out expensive because of the postage.

Postage and vat are the killer for buying of the internet.  Modelers who live close to a decent model shop are very lucky.
