Hi everyone. As a new subscriber and one who is about to venture into the scary world of scratch building, I have swiftly come up against my first obstacle. I have found the vessel I wish to build but can't find the plans. In the August 2003 edition of "Model Boats" a free set of plans was available to accompany the excellent build article by Peter Danks. If anyone has these plans and would consider selling them, or perhaps loaning them for coppying purposes, or perhaps knows contact details for Mr Danks, I would be very grateful to hear from you. In the meantime , Happy Christmas everybody. Ken.

Hope you can help.Hi Dave, thanks for your reply and yes it would have helped to name the vessel. Treat me gently I'm new to this.

The vessel is the Acute class gun brig HMS Blazer.

              Kenneth,

I have the full article and will look through my plans, once the "deccies have been put up," and see whether I kept them. I really must get around to making an index. I note from the article that Peter Danks reproduced the lines in sufficient detail so that a builder could scale and draw up his own frames.

You could look at the plans Peter used, log on and register with the NMM at Greenwich, then search for the Acute class and for plans of "Assault" plan number ZAZ4979 (sheer draught). The others follow on in order.

I've used the NMM for other plans, it's not to expensive, and you can then copy and scale to whatever size required.

              Happy building, Kimosubby
