flowerclass corvette

i got given a flowerclass corvette the revell 1/72 scale

and it is in a very poor state the bandstand is broken the forcosle parts missing

this is going to be a long build and wanting to know so things first

the wood how far does the wood extend and does it cover all the deck or is it at the bow and middle or all the way to the stern

and want type of wood and how was layed .straight on a angle

also i dont like the panels on the hull and want to replace it.

i am getting aftermarket parts from derek perkins anyone bought form this site

any help answering these questions will help me a great deal
