Well done, Bob!……One of your best yet!

Now, the obvious question………..What the next one?

And will it be done for Christmas?…………..Bob

             Fellow modeller`s……..

I should think that Bob Wilson is pretty brassed off right now!……………..He`s posted a picture of the final build of his latest masterpiece, probably one of his finest…………….and nobody has shown the slightest iota of interest in his model!

I think it is shameful……..we`re supposed to be fellow model boat builders………A few words of admiration would not go amiss!

            Bob……..Don`t despair…….Carry on regardless!

              Hi Bob,
Thanks.    It is OK.   I don’t need lots of words of admiration, but must admit that if I see the viewing figures soaring even without any comment, good, bad or indifferent, it spurs me on becasue I know fellow modellers are at least interesed, even if they don’t say anything.      I placed the FALLS OF FOYERS build  on three model forums and viewing figures of the build were in one case in excess of 4,000, whilst the final picture was viewed 161 times, 216 times and 25 times here on MB.      I know the reason is that most of those here prefer model boats rather than ships (nothing wrong with that, of course) ,  it is simply that I am in the wrong place.        Anyway, FALLS OF FOYERS has been sold subject to collection early next week (by one of my regulars).
Most of the few who commented on the model here also commented about it on the other two forums.
I will still be here, but not as regularly unless interest in small models of big ships improves.    Not necessarily my own, but I seldom seem to see anyone else building models of ships in excess of 1,000 tons and rarely have the pleasure of discussing techniques with fellow big-ship modellers because there don’t seem to be many around!

                Bob,
I think you are correct in saying this forum has only a minority interest in miniature model making. Although my main interest is in RC boats I also have an interest in waterline modelling and your postings are very interesting and the quality of what you do is outstanding. Please keep posting on this forum. I did some waterline modelling when I was a lad many years ago and seeing your models has inspired me to have another go at this type of modelling. I have just started MV Glenroy of 1938 at 50 feet to the inch so it is about 10 inches long.

                  Hi Robin,
Thanks for reply.    I am pleased you enjoyed watching the build, but there is little point in me just filling up the forum with something that hardly anyone is interested in seeing.   I will still be here, but not with continuous builds such as FALLS OF FOYERS.    For anyone interested in following my miniature builds, my website is
I update it every few days.    There is no forum or anything like that so I am not trying to entice anyone away from here (or any other forum).    If you scroll to the bottom of it and click on Site Meter, you will see how many visitors I have daily, weekly, monthly and yearly.    As long as the site has a decent number of visitors, it will carry on, even though hardly anyone ever communicates with me on the subject.
                  Best wishes
                  Bob
