Apparently this is how it happened!!

First Officer: Do you think it is possible to turn around in the Suez?

      Captain: Hold my beer!

From totally whacky to totally serious, and bearing in mind the billions of dollars that are being lost how would you unblock the canal?

What’s your solution for unblocking the Suez?

          Well here's mine:

          Build two caissons.

Sink them behind and in front of the ship.

Seal around the edges (the hard part probably)

Pump water from the canal into the enclosed section containing the ship.

When water level high enough (probably doesn't need much) straighten out the ship)

Open the valves on the caissons to level the water.

Pump out caissons and move to one side.

          Away goes the ship.

Hand the beer back to the captain and name your price wink

Keep calm, make a mug of tea, hire in a bigger dredger and maybe even open the ginger nuts.

Actually I have enough on my hands trying to dry my pulpit paint.

Sailed the suez up and down a few times to and from Hong Kong in the 'old days', a strangely, magnificent construction -or dig-out.

Get a bigger digger. The one shown trying to push the nose of the ship is clearly inadequate!

good satellite views of all the ships piled up waiting.

Idea for a new diorama?? Stick a few shoeboxes together, paint some cat food pouch type box’s in different colours, pile on top, arrange at an angle between rolled up towels. Easy.

(yes, I am not that silly, point one)

How about the Egyptian army getting some of their tanks on the eastern bank and all pulling on cables attached to the stern on the other side to pull the stern close enough to the eastern side to allow traffic through?

I tried a rapid turn on the Bridgewater just as they were about to call time in the pub we had just past.

You should have seen the chaos I caused, the ducks had to get out and walk around.

Needless to say but in the best tradition of all boaters we abandoned the stricken craft and legged it back to the pub.
