Made our annual pilgrimage down to Cornwall the weekend before last and again stayed in one of our favourite hotels, the Pier House Hotel in Charlestown. Our room was on the corner and overlooked the quay and the open sea, marvellous.
Couple of shots of the boats in Charlestown. One day we first went to the Shipwreck Museum, which is now open in the winter and then on to Fowey.
Interesting boat wise, as first I saw the life boat in its mooring and then the Pilot boat followed by two tugs. About an hour later I saw the tugs again as they towed in a china clay carrier, backwards. Interesting watching as one tug towed and the other at the back (front of the carrier) was at right angles, pulling the front round for access into the river.
I would have stood there for some time watching the tugs and carrier making their way to the china clay loading berths but whilst my wife is generally patient, she ain't that patient!
