CAD DRAFTING FOR SCRATCH BUILDING

Tugs, towboats and work boats are my fancy.. I have drawn, built and published two boats years ago. I am looking for a moderately priced ,not too difficult to learn CAD program that I can import my scanned in drawings to which could also give a 3-D rendering of the finished boat. I'm sorry to say that there is no such thing as an easy to learn CAD 3D render system, I have been using CAD professionally for years and I am still learning.

You might be better looking for an art / photo type programme which should be far easier to use.

Hi Robert

Take a look at Blender. It is a great 3D modelling program, free too. It allows CAD uploads. I used it a while ago and followed the first tutorial very easily.
