For a cheap and effective wood filler mix waterproof PVA with hard wood sawdust into a paste.
Put the paste into the hole and allow to dry……………..hey presto a very good filler that hasn’t cost a fortune.

I needed to hold the rudder post exactly in position……with plenty of access around it……..to apply P38 filler……
So I drilled a hole in a strip of wood and weighted it down at the other end.

I have used talcum powder in glass fibre resin before now when I have run out of filler. Ashley
(it also smells nice when you sand it !)
