The geared motor was so noisy it had to go.

The rudder had a very poor addon, it had to go.

Installed my design rudder with oiler.

Installed new drive line with oiler.

The motor is a slow rpm from the parts bin.

It runs slower on 2S Lipo than my 80 turn 540 rock crawler motors.

That's by sound, the 80 turn motor is 5500 rpm (un loaded)on 7.2 volts.

Still has more work to do on it, but, it's had it's first run !!!

      ONLY TWO YEARS !!!

              Hi Ashley

Not the colour I pick for the bottom, but goes faster !!!

Red Oxide which age down looks a lot better.

The boat has very turning forward as I over sized the rudder.

A bit of steerage a stern, but not in the same league as my Smit Nederland.

              Harry

              PS.

As I retired I was down graded from a TV Vet (Doctor Harry) and from a Prince to a SIR !!!

Lovely job. I always think there is something particularly satisfying about restoring an old model that was looking pretty tired and fit for the bin. I have a couple that were rescued from a skip and restored by a club member to a beautiful standard and seem to enjoy more showing them off on the water.

The Bugsier looks more like how she should now.

I'm afraid that link does not work for me Harry.

I suspect this was what you were referring to:

                    Harry's Bugsier

                    Your Bugsier starts at 3.14

                      bugsier 26.jpgbugsier 25.jpgbugsier 24.jpgHi All

My little Bugsier had a water leak !!!

The ABS on the stern of the keel hair line crack under the drive tube.

I super glue it up after cutting out the glue from the plywood addon piece.

Fibreglass resin fill the inside around this and the drive tube.

Refilled the joint on the outside and repainted.

Added glass to the windows in the wheelhouse and some crating.

I do not like the lifeboat so going with a life canster.

                        HI Chaps

Another trip to the canal and another leak !!!

Discovered the leak at home by removed motor, etc.

ABS crack under port side of the motor mount.

Same repairs as the first lot, but, I notice the rudder servo mount is flexing in the hull as well.

I think I will address this problem as well.

                        Harry

Old ABS shells prone to cracking. I was given a tug kit (hull, deck, superstructure) once and it was unusable due to being really brittle.

                            Hi Ashley

The cracking may have come from my re-engineering the boat.

The old geared motor you would have heard in England.

The motor I installed is a quiet as a mouse !!

No idea of it's rpm, but slower than my 80 turn 540 rock crawler motors(5500 rpm on 7.2 volts).

Hope you are your Man Flu, but coughing up some new ideas for models.

                            Harry
