BROOKLANDS
On completion of the MARY CELESTE, I was left with a small spare display case owing to the fact that the original MARY CELESTE case was too short and I had to make another one. Rather than waste the discarded case, I decided to build another model for it with a much lower rig. I chose the Irish three-masted topsail schooner BROOKLANDS, to a scale of 32’=1”. First of all, I made a new quadrant beading for the old display case and then made a new inner base for the new model. The bare hull is now complete. Although I have made the full hull, this is only for ease of handling. It will be set in a sea under full sail.
