“I’ll be chewing salted horse, and biting flinty bread,

And standing with the stars to watch

                  Upon the forecastle head,

Where I’ll listen to the bow-wash, and the welter of the tread,

Of a thousand tons of clipper running free.

Absolutely works of art Bob. I always find it facinating to see how much detail you manage in such a small scale and the effect of them being at sea just sets the whole project off.

                      Great to see them Bob.

                      Jim.

This is my last build, Maltese Prince.   I abandoned the model on the 8th November, 2022, and it is unlikely that I will ever complete it – the enthusiasm is all gone!   I am not depressed or anything, but have just grown weary of building them, 288 models since I started counting in October 1992 when I left the sea.

That is very clever and intricate modelling Bob. How big was the model?

Nota all that big.   I can’t remember exactly, but you can see the one-foot ruler under the frames and keel in fig 2a above.  It was less than one foot overall, but this one is very small for plank on frame –  Stood on small matchbox.  Planked in veneer –
