Bob,
Whilst discussing the Titanic, it brought back memories of a club member who built a model of the liner some years ago, a beautiful, large and accurate model of the ill-fated vessel. This model also had a problem in that every now and again it would loose control and have a mind of its own. On the maiden voyage, it lost control and ran into the concrete banks at the other side of the lake, the Daily Mail heard about this and printed an item.
The models owner spent a lot of time trying to trace the fault, he finally gave up and sold the model to an electronics expert. The new owner also had difficulty finding the fault, and had to fit measuring equipment. The fault was finally traced to one of the three motors giving out electrical noise intermittently and whilst under load.
