Niels Depends how you want to finish your boat… spray aerosols, or tin type paint.
If using spray cans.. my advice is keep to the same manufacturer and type of paint, ie acrylic or whatever.
Filler primer is great stuff if using a gun, quite thick and useful for filling smaller marks and pinholes. Spray can stuff, not so useful. Dust existing surface with a white or grey primer and VERY LIGHTLY rub down to see how bad (or good) the surface is, and go from there…ie another thin scrape of p38, or just a bit more paint and rubbing down, and applying one colour of undercoat.
OR use ordinary undercoat…Dulux etc..this is thick and a few coats will fill quite well. You will then have to use Humbrol enamel or an "ordinary" oil based paint on top. I have found that Humbrol enamel, if left to harden for a few weeks, will take wet and dry paper rubbing down to produce a glassy surface, finish with T-cut or similar.
