            Another little masterpiece, as always!

It would have been nice, had you'd built the Titanic, in time for the current festivities?

            Or….have you?

              Thanks Bob,

I built the Titanic years ago at 50'=1", but it is unlikely that I will build another. I am interested to the point of watching all the spate of films and documentaries resultng from the centenary of the sinking, but have no particular obsession with it. I really prefer the obscure and semi-obscure. I guess you couldn't get more obscure than Sofala!

Another nice model Bob, I hadn't realised the BI were building engines aft vessels at that time. I presume she was a local 'feeder' ship?

I didn't either until I came across the plan in a 1937 shipbuilding journal. Despite the large 'midship accommodation, she carried no passengers. The captain, deck officers, radio officer, engineers and senior crew members were housed 'midships, with the bulk of the crew aft. She operated on the coastal service of East Africa. After 1955, she was sold to South Africa and operated on SA coast until 1968, so I must have seen her numerous times, but really can't remember.

Very nice Bob I wish that I had your skill and eyesight.
