I am posting this to express my thanks and give praise to the very helpful gent at SHG who I spoke to on the phone earlier regards replacement bearings for the propshafts in my Irishman tug. I have never dealt with anyone who has been so helpful and patient. What a credit to the model boating community you and your company are. 😀😀😀

I can second that, if it was the older chap, he has the patience of a saint. SHG are top of my list of suppliers, if they havent got it at a show they are very quick to send it through.

Dont know if they have a shop but worth looking at there web site

No, they do not have a shop and emphasise the fact on their website and in their catalogue. They are extremely helpful and like to ensure that what you are purchasing is the correct item/equipment to suit your requirements.

Jerome and his wife Sue are two of the model boat trade's greatest secrets, although regular show-goers will be familiar with their stand. Jerome is a past national multi-racing champion and has been producing metal and moulded plastic fittings for as long as I can remember, so he knows what he's talking about.

I first met his dad, Sid, when I did some design work for Roger Hargreaves at Humbrol back in the 70's. SHG Marine Models was then the biggest manufacturer of GRP boat hulls in the UK. Sid passed away a few years ago but, along with Lawrie and Jackie White of Model Slipway, Jerome and Sue are the nicest and most helpful people in the trade.

Following on from the comments made by Dave Milbourn. I only really got onto model boats when I retired about 6 years ago. I have purchased items from shows and via the post and to be honest I have never encountered a supplier who was not extremely helpful and that includes Mr Milbourn. Within the last week I have dealt with SHG, Model Slipway, Adrians Marine Figures and Macs Mouldings………all brilliant.
