Hi All , making good progress with my Shell Pioneer (still no pics, starting to believe it never existed). Well got to thinking about painting the tug when a spark said use that garage floorpaint for the hull . Has anyone ever used this stuff ,tried it on a piece of timber and it appears impervious to the affects of water .It is very hardwearing so hopebut will take advise . Now back to the hed and santuary.wink

Evening Mike, I've used floor paint to paint my garage door,(it fell off the back of a shelf where I used to work) It lasted for years, faded with the sun but didn't peel but did take a while to fully dry. Would recommend this type of paint for extreme uses.

Mike. No reason not to use floor paint if its the right colour! Considering the amount of time these boats actually spend in the water, the various qualities of types of paint seems rather immaterial.

A word of caution to those who have plastic or fiberglass hulls some garage floor paints are epoxy based and might react with your hull by making the material soft of delaminate.

Check the paint specs and reactive elements before splashing it all over your pride and joy and remember just like us guys getting older the softening efect can take some time to become a problem.
