Hi Martin, welcome to the forum. Posting pictures is a little confusing at first, but simple once you've done it. Create an album, then post a picture from there. For more instructions type pictures in the search box.

I'm sure one of us will recognise your model, and be able to help in any way.

fullsizerender.jpgHi guys, sorry I'm a newbie in this forum so took a while in working out how to post a pic. Thanks for advice. Now here is the pic of the boat I'm trying to identify that I bought recently and going to restore.

Hi again martin, that looks as if it will restore into a really nice model. I don't recognise it but someone probably will.

I'm guessing that it's around 80 cms long and has a shallow v hull. If that's about right, have a look at a thread on here titled eezebilt pt boat. The part about motor choice etc will interest you.

Some photos of the inside , propeller etc will help us when you have more questions.

This site seems to be doing a lot of identification of old model boats recently – probably worth posting on there **LINK**

To help identification it helps to know:

The boat dimensions – at least length

The material the boat is made from

Where in the world you are (different countries have different manufacturers)

Some pictures of the inside of the boat – especially motors or any other gear that may help to date it

I completely agree Dodgy, but new posters, which many are, won't realise this unless we guide them. I wish we had stickys, then we could put an appropriate title up.

As long as we offer help to all who ask, we stand a chance of growing the hobby.

Hello yet again Martin. I've just had a look at your other picture's of the model in your album. The old installation is typical of models 20 or so years ago. A possible hint to its age.

I can see a couple of causes of concern. The prop shaft angle seems very steep, it will probably need changeing anyway, so re setting the angle will be a good idea.

The way the prop and lock but are installed is very wrong, don't repeat this when you re build. The prop and nut should be up against the shaft so that the thrust is working on the shaft, not on the engine.

I think our posts have crossed, no problem. The kB 40 brings back memories, multi racing boats in the 1970s.

I think production started in the mid 1960s and went through many versions. I've no idea when and if it finished. You might find buyers for the engine if you decided to sell.

anyHi Chas, yes it does look at quite a angle but I believe this have been set like this since it was built and it does line up with the engine mounts that are mounded into the hull and look installed from the factory but I'm not 100%. The prop and shaft have been removed to check it's a snug fit and re-greased and almost in new condition, so I think it hasn't had much run time. I will have to replace the prop depending on what electric set-up I use. I probabably will send the engine has there are getting fewer and fewer places to run IC stuff now. The only place near me as I currently live in North West Lancashire is Fleetwood model boat lake and club, this is the only place I am aware of but it is 20 miles from me. I am planning to moving to Devon shortly and maybe there will be more opportunities to run IC? I agree the model of the boat is designed on the late 70's- early 80's and that's what I have been looking around in old mags/books that my Dad has colllected since the early 60's, he has lots of reading material in his attic(thanks dad) who is and was a still avid fan and he 83 yrs old and has an old collection of old boats himself. He is currently restoring and old VICSMEED Pirana that he built in the 60's that was pwered by a diesel motor and is getting the electric treatment and also has a part built 28" veron vosper crash tender kit but that's another story. Anyway thanks for advice.

Not only that, but it looks like the water pick-up is on back-to-front. It may just be loose, of course…

Yes dodgy well spotted but its all been removed now to be reconditioned for when i decide which motor to fit and if i will be fitting a water cooled esc otherwise i will fill in the hole the water pickup leaves im not sure if this was built with a hull and deck supply ony or a complete kit or even a ready to run model ive scoured lots of magazines from my dads massive collection but to no avail on the maker or identity hence asking the model community for help ive also just purchaced a 1/24 scale hull for a german eboat last week so need to get this one done so i can get started on that build its not going to be done as a eboat but as a cabin cruiser modelled on a real life boat that my fiancee lived on in her youth her dad converted it back in the seventies fron a disbanded german eboat and built all the internals and superstructure by himself but passed awat in 1982 and unfortunatly the boat had to be sold so his wife and daughter now my fiancee could buy a house and the person that bought it let it go to ruin,so hence im going to build a replica of her boat from pictures she has and that will be a challenge getting everything built to the right scale i hope to post pics of that build when i get started on that il have to dig out the calipers and calculator lol
