I’ve only skimmed the article so far but using a spine is a rather odd way of introducing the curve when increasing the extensions would do the job but I suppose it does ensure you obtain a nice smooth curve and also it makes it easier to fix to and release from the building board as being a narrow hull makes things fiddly. The frames shown in the article only have extensions to elevate the hull above the building board to facilitate building the hull but they look to be all the same height so would not create the curve.
I’ll sort the magazine out and have a look at the plan and will comment further.
As regards the sails and rigging etc. it suggests to use those from the Dragonforce 65 with RC Yachts being a good supplier which I use. The kits come with instructions for assembling the sails and rigging etc. and are no doubt downloadable from somewhere. I’ll have a look and see if I can find them.
I don’t know what your budget is but once you start adding up the cost of the sails and rigging, servo, rudder, battery holder etc. it does start to get quite expensive to add to what is an inexpensive hull build.
