I saw this rather nice yacht, Elley Grey at Portsmouth today. She had a 'for sale' board on her. On looking her up later I found that she is actually a replica St Malo pilot cutter of 1886 built of GRP – 14 layers apparently.

Just reduced and an absolute bargain at £595,000. Couldn't persuade Mrs B though..

Yes Ashley, but I had to take it back as not being of merchantable quality. It had a leaking propshaft seal admitting two cupfulls of water a day.

Gah! foiled at the last minute. I bet that leaking propshaft seal repair would have cost ….ooohh … twice as much as the boat originally cost to build…at least, if not more.
