Some years ago, time was spent researching the paddlewheel DRC system from Russian shipbuilders. Decided to continue this research, to find one of the design vessels, PKS-40 'Sura' which uses this new type of Sternwheel was built in 2010 and sails on the River Volga.

Fascinating. I wouldn't know where to start in making those complicated paddle-wheels, but that floating cafe is almost too good to ignore!

I wouldn't be at all surprised if someone on the "Paddleducks" forum hasn't come up with plans or ideas for the boats. They do look fascinating.
