Could you clarify the scale please as if it is 48" long, it cannot be 1:12 scale as these boats were only 37 foot long???

          cheers.

          neil.

            Hi Neil,

Normally that is correct but the plans sent by the RNLI were in metric and using 1/12 in metric resulted in the boat being 48" and not 37".

              Norman

1:12 is an odd scale for a set of metric drawings given the metric dimensions that you have supplied I suspect that 1:10 would be nearer the mark.

I also think that you have under valued your model by at least 30% even with the lack of running gear a 4ft model of this quality is worth more than £500 and I would hate for you to sell it only to see it reappear on ebay

                HI Paul,

Thanks for your comments and noted.

Even if the scale is questionable the dimensions are correct and are from the RNLI metric plans according to my father-in-law who built it.

Using your valuation as a guide I will consider any reasonable offers around £500 and the buyer will have a good deal. The buyer will need to arrange collection and any associated costs.

                Regards
                Norman

she is therefore built at 1:10th scale or 1.1" = 1 foot (rather than 1" = 1&#39 which is a larger scale to build in,

and as such your 6' crewman would have to be made at 1.1 inch to the foot and would normally be around 5.5" tall………….so those crew men you have got will be a little short…….but hey ho………..there's no regulatory reason for lifeboat men to be tall…..could all be little shorties, lol…………

sorry, but if you don't acknowledge answers to your other questions such as scale, how can you expect people to take the time and trouble to answer your further questions????

obviously you don't read replies then, as I explained to you in a previous post what scale your lifeboat was and why your figures were short.

or was I wasting my time???

Ford Oxford blue for the hull, and Volkswagen Brilliant orange for the superstructure……….both bought from Halfords motor stores,

aldo Ford Glacier white for the antifouling if she has a white bum, or red oxide primer if she has a red bum..

these are the colours of choice for lifeboat modelers.
