History of The Envoy Class Tug
Full-size vessel was built and completed in 1944 for the Admiralty by Cochrane and sons of selby, yorks. The six class boats were used as fleet tugs during World War II and fitted with guns from 12 pounders to Oerlkon and colt machine guns for defence on escort duties.
This model was Enchanter W187 Sold after the war into commercial service in 1947 and became Englishman and painted as model displayed. Sold in 1962 to Supreme Cia Nav, Portugal and named CINTRA. The model was designed using the original linen drawings as a guide.
