2 Vintage Aerokits need a good home.

My father was a prolific model boat builder constructing 10 case models which are now in the Newhaven Maritime Museum. I have since his death recovered from the loft a further two kit models which have sustained a little damage.

As my main interest now is in static sailing ships I would like them to go to a good home and be seen sailing about on the water.

They are Aerokits 40” PT boat glow engined and a 34” Crash tender electric driven with 4 channel 40Mhz radio control (see photos) and other bits and pieces.

I would like a nominal £40 for the lot, this would go to the above voluntary manned museum.

Hello David

To maintain the charitable nature of this thread I would also like to buy the boats which I would restore in aid of the Parkinsons Society.

My father in law has been struck down by Parkinsons and both Jane and I have been raising funds to aid research and care.

Like Phil I would need to arrange postage.

Some years ago my farther had a fellow model boating friend suffer from Parkinsons, I can see where your commitment comes from.

And now my forum wide request.

Dear All

As this is an on going project of ours we are always on the look out for model boats to restore (but usually in poorer condition than Daves) so if any members have old models that they would like to sell or donate please PM me.

We restore the models adding whatever is required, including radio gear to bring them up to full working order then the models are sold and all of money is donated to the Parkinsons Society.

Why are we doing it.

Parkinsons is a terrible affliction, my father in law was a big strong man and now he is a shaking, shuffling and shrunken shadow of his former self. It is so upsetting seeing him trying to maintain his garden which only a couple of years ago he could have double dug in a single day.

I know that in the great scheme of things what we are doing is very small, but its the best that I can do. Those of you that have witnessed the effects of Parkinsons will understand our commitment and any help that forum members can give would be very much appreciated.
