Bought the model and a real model steam launch recently. Unfortunately the local club site has fairly murky water and obstacles such as rocks and weeds making submariner stuff somewhat tricky. The model is a modified Seawof . I bought the model from U-33 and have done nothing to it. comes complete with radio. See thread on this site http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=14693.0
I have been told that “to finish off Mother Russia you’ll need to see Dave the ACTion man for an esc and the water ballast pump controller…plug them in and attach them with the provided double sided tape onto the platform which is just above the two servos.
You’ll need the Robbe 6volt main power battery pack that sits in the space provided in the WTC and just plugs together. That’s the internals completed.
The outside needs to be finished off…two more holes to drill, two screws to insert, two plastic tags to glue in position and it’s about done and ready for painting. Couple of coats of primer, silk black above the water line, deep red below…., plus any detailing you might fancy, such as waterlines, rust and weathering, etc. Might need a touch of rubbing down to etch the ABS so that the paint adheres properly.
Then you’ll just have to attach the kit provided lead ballast where the instructions show, fill the bath and charge the batteries and complete the final trimming out…that is about it.All theI drawings are there as well as the instructions so a quick read through them will provide any further clues as to what’s needed, but I’m pretty well sure that’s about it.
If you don’t want to keep the static dive system, simply remove the water pump, plug the external holes and remove the ballast tank…job done.”
