        rob,i seem to think that this is a f-type frigate-is this correct and did south africa have 3  of them in the 6070-80’s…

          Hi Steve.

          The Leander Class built 1959 – 1973 / 1963 completed 1966 F109 Leander, Dido F104, Ajax F114, Penelope F127, AURORA F10ect + another five if I mind correctly for that time 4 were also made in India  for their Navy also, the class was also built for Chile and Newzealand navy`s. The most extensive and expensive `Leander` modification of all HMS Charybdis, fitted with Sea Wolf, Exocet and Lynx helicopter.

          The model I have is only scratch built `Blue Peter` style with converted Airfix Scout helicopter.
