      Lesro Rapier by Ian Gardner

      rapier.jpg

Looking through Ians albums I came across this cracking example of the Rapier.

I have never fancied building this model but Ians colour scheme is really attractive. I wonder what a 6ft version would look like.

Perhaps I should have said I wonder what a 6ft version would look like on the water going at full speed.

Mr and Mrs Bigger had a son……..Who was the biggest?

Answer….The son, as he was a little bigger!

                  Dear All

Ok I walked into all of the above by posting such a inviting statement and a big thanks to all of my friends who despite being hard of thinking were quick to take advantage of my fopa.

I am still keen to explore the possibilities of a larger version of the Rapier as I quite enjoyed making a 5ft model of another classic and despite the failings of the original design wink the model turned out very well.

Perhaps the Rapier is a candidate for the reserve summer build whilst waiting for the glue to dry on the main project.

You're forgiven, Paul – apart from the crack about the "other classic". Speaking of which, how about some pictures of it?

Why take umbrage at the crack about the other classic? don't you like the Sea Commander. cheeky

A very belated thanks to you, Paul, for the kind comments about my Rapier. I doubt you'll have time for a six foot version now you're so busy with Ellie.

I would like to say that I am busy with Ellie but its Bob thats doing all the hard work now, I'm currently occupied with designing a launching device for 4 to 6ft boats that can be used single handed.

                            Hi Paul,

Just scanning thru the Forum at work before I start, did you ever complete your launching device for the larger model?.

If you did, could you give us a look see,

                            hope you don't mind: Ralph.

                              Hi Ralph

I finished the design and purchased the materials but haven't got round to building it yet.
