Spammers December 2020

We are currently being plagued by spammers who register on the site, a few of them currently making posts with links.

Most of them appear to originate in Russia! Why we should be the subject of such interest I have no idea!

To avoid the possibility of malicious links being posted we will be requiring the initial posts of new members to be moderated (by me) to filter out the baddies. It should not cause any problems as I am on the site most of each day and will be able to screen them quickly.

That sounds good Colin.

Seems like Ray was targeted the most. I must ask him where he has been on holiday recently!

I think the first posts on the sister sites Model flying and Model engineering are pre-moderated.

Hi All,

Tim's on the money I do have a boat builder acquaintance who's yard is on the lower reaches of the Dnieper River down stream from Chernobyl, who made significant amount of money from collecting all the yachts from the exclusion zone and doing them up !! we met when he used to come to the UK to buy fittings which weren't available in Russia.

He knew i was interested in aviation and always said If I wanted a MIG 21 he could get me one

Probably the word Cossack is the spammers way in ??

WE ARE GETTING THEM ON THE LIFEBOAT FACEBOOK FORUMS cOLIN………THINK ITS CHRISTMAS TIME LOL…………..I JUST BAN AND REMOVE THEM INSTANTLY IF THEIR NAMES ARE REDICULOUS OR THEY HAVE NOT ANSWERED 3 QUESTIONS WE ASK FOR OR THEY HAVE NO ASSOCIATED MEMBERSHIPS WITH SIMILAR sites [ sorry about capitals……….my pooter has a mind of its own at times.
