Yes, and as shopping habits change and sadly town centres are often not what they used to be, Tesco in its various forms has to be a useful outlet, if only because they get the footfall and of course are open long hours.
Dave Milbourn is quite correct about subscriptions, but all magazines of all types need newstrade sales if only to attract potential new readers and hopefully from that subscribers. MB actually does very, very well in subscription terms.
Larry – the problem with display is that very often the person 'putting out' the latest issue of whatever magazine has no interest in it, so tends to put them where there is a space, rather than rotating the magazines. To be in a defined regular front row place, costs yet more money – no surprise there! Sometimes we pay for such an option with WH Smith, but it is prohibitive over an extended period.
