I’m having trouble reading some forum threads as the thread text extends beyond the ads column on right, which blocks the forum text from view. I’m using Firefox 7 and IE8 and have the same problem in both. Is there a fix? Am I the only one suffering this?

Mark, I am having a the same problem, but only on some pages of the forum, the majority are OK. An example is Page 1 of the Electric Motor temperature Sensor thread – is that one you are having trouble with?

I don’t know the solution, but perhaps Colin Bishop may be able to assist.

BTW, I am using Google Chrome.

          Peter.

            Hi Guys,

The problem is caused by posting a very long link in its entirety. The Forum editor can’t cope and it messes up the page layout. I have cleaned up the first page of the Electric Motor Temperature Sensor topic which had a link extending over three lines referencing an RS component.

The solution if youi have a very long link is to use the link button at the top of the posting box (a chain) this will open up a box into which you can enter the long link, select a colour for it and some texxt to assign to it such as ‘see here’.

If there are any other instances people have found then let me know and I will fix them.

            Hope this helps.

            Colin

              Hi Colin,

Sorry, my fault!! I will try to do better in future,. I don’t post very often and don’t know all the tricks of the trade.

Not your fault Tom, just a quirk of the system, it doesn’t happen very often and is easily put right. Usually I notice but not on this occasion.
