I have been away for some time. Can anyone tell me how I can still get a copy of the commemorative issue of the magazine?
      Thanks
      Brian

I believe some may have been sent abroad but I’m not sure where. You could try emailing MyHobbyStore customer services to see if there is a distributor in South Africa.

            Hi Brain
if you have not been able to source one from my Hobby stores I would be willing next time I pass to see if our WHSmiths still have any , they said they did !
mag is £ 4.99 Sterling and then postage on top..  However I can not be held responsible once posted should it go missing…I have posted 1 to Germany which arrived safely.

If Intrested PM me and we can see if we can sort anything out.

I just found a copy at a local magazine store. He has all the Model Boating magazines mixed in with the full size ones.
In the part for the 90s there is mentioned an article on Pop Pops, but I can’t find it?
              Regards,
              Gerald.

The reference to the Pop Pops is an error. I had intended to include a one page piece by Basil Harley but we ran out of space at the last minute and the reference to it got left in by mistake. You are the first person to mention it! Maybe it can go in the next one!

The issue is now officially off sale I believe but you should be able to find copies in some branches of W H Smith for a while yet.

                  Thanks Colin,
That’s what I had suspected had happened. Even without Basil’s piece I have enjoyed it. Any chance of posting the piece here?
                  Regards,
                  Gerald.

I think I might hang on to it Gerald. There seems to be a likelihood of a follow up Special Issue next year and if it goes ahead I’m thinking in terms of a combination of publishing more vintage material plus a series of short pieces on ‘Model Boating Basics’ to address a lot of the sort of questions that regularly come up on the Forum.

Any chance of some of the older steam articles being done? I think I have the one shown in the current one. Ideally I would like to see a all steam issue, but realistically I know that there just aren’t enough of us steam boat nuts to make it profitable.
                      Regards,
                      Gerald.

I went back into the magazine store to pick up a woodworking magazine and noticed they had sold all the copies of the commemorative issue. I asked the clerk (who for a change spoke and understood English) and he said that they had received six copies and all were sold.
                        Regards,
                        Gerald.

There are still a few copies at WHS in Minehead if this is of any use.
                          Rick.
