Very simple question, but I concede defeat in solving it!

How do I minimise a Window in Windows 10?

Hi Bob, it's just the same as other windows systems, click the minus button in the top right hand corner, next to the box and x symbol.

It isn't the same with my new PC. The minimise window buttons (minus small square and X was missing). I have found it again though. If I connect using something called EDGE in Windows 10, it is there again and works. The problem is that the people who design these things assume that the user knows everything there is to know about them from the start!face 24 Actually, I have no idea what EDGE is, but it has solved the problem at the moment.

Edge is Microsoft's standard browser now replacing Internet Explorer which will still work. I use Firefox for most purposes.

I think everyone knew that, except me!surprise When I eventually found out, a number of people said that they thought I was using Edge because everyone knew about it, so didn't bother to enlighten me! laugh

Does anyone know how to find a link of the website I am on. i.e. as I am on Model Boats, how would I find the link?

In my old Windows 7 version, I would right click the mouse button and then select View Page Info, and would be provided with the link.

When I right click on the dreadful Windows 10, it says: Paste, Select all, Print and Read Aloud!

My PC is out of action at the moment as I'm decorating the room, but if I remember the link will be shown at the top of the page in the search box. For this site it's http://www.modelboats.co.uk  You just have to click on it to highlight it and then copy and paste.

Whilst Windows 10 works fine for me I agree that the frequent updates are annoying especially when they start on boot up sometimes and stop you using the PC. On one occasion they took ages and if I'd wanted to do something urgent I'd have been angry rather than annoyed.

What I don't like is the fact that Microsoft think it is Ok to take over your computer. I kept on refusing the upgrade to W10 but in the end they just did it anyway and I was bloody angry then!

It is all academic now as it has just lost everything I have put in it over the past two days, files, programs, the lot! I have not lost anything, because I only copied the files into it from an external hard drive. It still works, and I can connect to the internet OK. But I will shortly be putting the old PC back in service, and sticking with Windows 7, supported, or not!

The old PC is back in service, and what a relief!
