      Dear All

As usual my subscription copy of MBM has thudded through the letterbox and I had the traditional sit down with a nice drink whilst I digested the contents.

I was half way through Dave Wooley's follow up piece on HMS. Edinburgh when it suddenly dawned on me just how much hard work and dedication that Dave puts into all of his work.

His articles are always concise and are accompanied with a wide selection of highly detailed photographs that are research gold for any model boat builder. Dave is very good at getting photos of the structural details that would otherwise fall through the net of even the most ardent archive research and hnd he has the the true model builders skill of sniffing out the 'odds and sods' of superstructure detail that were never added to the builders drawings. It is this level of attention to detail that allows us mere mortals to turn a mundane model into a museum piece.

I think that it is high time that Daves commitment to our hobby is acknowledged.

Well done Dave and thank you for all of your hard work.

      Respect

      Paul

          Well said, Paul

i heartily agree with all the praise and acclaim you bestow on Mr Wooley

He seems to be a tireless workhorse in the world of ships large and small

He has built some excellent models, from scratch, where he gets the time from, I'll never know!

Dave and a colleague have just created a new website on Facebook, "Realistic model Ships" and portrays scale models from around the world, doing their best to look realistic, as the title says

Of course, my models are included, especially the Great Eastern, where Dave was involved as the official photographer for ModelBoats Magazine

Well done, Dave Wooley and thank you, Paul Thomason
